Definition of JavaScriptJavaScript is an open scripting language. Scripting refers to the creation of a list of commands that can be implemented without interaction from a user. Scripting language is the term used to refer to a simple programming language that is used to write the scripts or commands. It was developed by Netscape for the purpose of enabling Web users to implement and design interactive websites that would be more appealing to individual users. JavaScript is coded into a webpage and is used for the purpose of creating special effects that are not possible with other scripting language. JavaScript can be used with HTML source code used to produce increased interactivity. JavaScript is available to individuals without the purchase of a license. Although it is similar to Java language, having many of the same features, JavaScript was developed separately.
